Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

There are some who say cursing is a form of expression. It frees our lips from constraints and it’s therapeutic during an emotional time. Then there’s another group that asks, what is a curse word? The Bible doesn’t clearly define cursing. For all we know, curse words are made up just like the rest of the words we use.

For those who have these opinions about cursing, I’ll counter with this question, what do you think the Bible means when it says corrupt communication? Another version of this scripture says unwholesome talk. If we don’t want our little children to use these words and we don’t say these words at church, why do we feel like it’s acceptable any other time? Finally, do you think these words will be used in heaven? If no, then make the adjustment now because even now, we’re in the presence of the Lord and we’ll be held accountable for every word that comes out of our mouths (Matthew 12:36-37).

There are so many vocabulary words to express how we feel without cursing. Pick one and honor God in your communication.
