One of the things Satan is after is our joy. If he can steal our joy, the quality of our lives will decline. In extreme cases, we could lose our will to live.

Satan can steal our joy by tempting us to magnify the problems in our lives. We can have a nice place to live, great health, and a good job but because we have a car that’s giving us problems, he’ll make us think our whole world is in disarray. God could bless us with something nice but since most of our thoughts are focused on what’s wrong, we’ll give God a half-hearted thank you and return our attention back to our problems.

If we find ourselves focusing on our problems rather than God’s promises, we must recognize that Satan is attempting to steal our joy. Let’s change our perspective. Let’s look at all the good things God has done for us and realize if He blessed us in these other areas, it’s only a matter of time before the “problematic” areas must change for the better. Recognize the thief and don’t let him steal your joy.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
