Psalm 32:5 Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not hide my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and You forgave the guilt of my sin.

Admission to wrongdoing is not the most popular thing nowadays. A lot of like the image of being flawless and above mistakes. The truth is, we’re all going to miss the mark. By being in this earthly body, we have the potential to sin.

David acknowledged his faults and received forgiveness of sin. There was no guarantee that David’s sin would be forgiven because Jesus had not sacrificed His life for the forgiveness of sins yet. If David received forgiveness without a guarantee, how much more will we be forgiven? For every born-again believer, we have a certainty our sins are forgiven. It’s not “will be forgiven.” All our past, present, and future sins have been forgiven (Rom. 6:10).

When we acknowledgment our sins to God, we let go of the feeling of guilt associated with sin. At the same time of our acknowledgment, we thank God for the blood of Jesus that wipes away all our mistakes (1 John 1:7). Since we know that God has forgiven us, we can let it go and move on with our lives.
Praise God for His forgiveness.
