Numbers 7:3 And they brought their offering before the Lord, six covered carts and twelve oxen, a cart for every two of the leaders, and for each one an ox; and they presented them before the tabernacle. 4 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 5 “Accept these from them, that they may be used in doing the work of the tabernacle of meeting; and you shall give them to the Levites, to every man according to his service.”

Some people still have a problem with giving their tithes and offering to the church, and it’s understandable. They worked long hours to get this money and they don’t want to give it away to “some preacher.” Understand this, our tithes and offerings are given to the Lord and for the work of the Kingdom of God. It’s not meant to make the preachers rich. (Now, if we’re led to give to the man or woman of God, that’s fine, but the money is meant to advance the Kingdom of God.)

The Kingdom of God consists of ministries all across the world and it’s no different than any other business. Ministries need to pay the electricity, water, and gas bill. They need to pay property taxes and the mortgage. They need to pay for cameras, lights, technology, etc., to reach people everywhere and they need to pay the staff.

If we don’t give, how do we expect the Kingdom of God to advance? How can ministries advertise to reach the lost without any money? Sure, people can preach on corners, but they’re limited to the people in that neighborhood. We can reach a whole lot more through TV and technology, but that takes money.

So, don’t view it as giving your money away. Look at giving as investing in the advancement of the Kingdom of God with a guaranteed return (Malachi 3:10; Luke 6:38).
