We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 2 Corinthians 4:8 NKJV
God instructs us or allows us to go through things that have us perplexed. They are perplexing because they don’t make sense.
Perplexing situations include getting laid off of a job, being instructed to quit a good paying job, seeing our children go through sicknesses, getting passed up on a promotion, or getting denied for a loan for a house or business.
When these things happen, we become perplexed. Why would God allow that? Why would He tell me to do something so illogical?
Although perplexed, we’re not in despair. We’re not in despair because we know the faithfulnes of God. If you’ve been in a relationship with God for at least a year, you know everything He allows or instructs us to do works in our favor (Rom. 8:28). It may not make sense and it may leave us perplexed, but it usually works out better and more elaborate than we could have imagined.
Don’t stay in a perplexed state. Trust and believe God has everything worked out.
