Psalms 9:9 NLT The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
For political figures in hostile territories or important witnesses that they want to keep safe, they sometimes put them in a safe house. It’s a place that’s highly secured and unknown to their enemy.
God promised to be our refuge or a safe-house in times of trouble. Life can seem difficult at times. We may have challenges at work, problems at home, health issues, and financial struggles. When the enemy is throwing these difficulties in our face, we can find a safe place where we can turn. We can turn to God.
We can get in His presence and allow His peace to take over. We can get in His word and allow our faith to be built up. We can build ourselves up by praying in the Holy Spirit. We can allow Him to speak to us and let us know everything will be alright.
Our difficulties won’t disappear after being in His shelter, but our perspective of those difficulties will change. Because we’ve focused on God, the issues that seemed so big before will seem minor. We’ll have an assurance that everything will work out in our favor.
