Psalms 13:6 NLT I will sing to the Lord because He is good to me.
Before we can sing a song to the Lord, we must first recognize His goodness. Satan will use the difficulties of life to deceive us into thinking that God is good to everyone else, but us. We’ll see this family looking happy or see someone celebrating 15 years of marriage and compare our lives with that and minimize God’s goodness.
We must understand that God is and will always be good to us. It may not always be applauded by the world or our peers, but that doesn’t mean He isn’t good.
Each breath we take is evidence of His goodness. The fact that our needs are being met, we’ll always have His love, and we continually benefit from Christ’s sacrifice are all signs of His goodness.
When we magnify His goodness, we’ll experience joy. From this joy, we’ll have a song of praise in our hearts that we can share with Him.
