Psalms 18:47 NLT He is the God who pays back those who harm me; He subdues the nations under me

God is a God of love. He wants everyone saved, and He wants everyone to benefit from His love. At the same time, God is a God of justice. If people refuse to honor Him and they harm His people (us), He vows for vengeance.

Vengeance has nothing to do with hate. Vengeance comes from a love of justice. In multiple areas, God promotes vengeance for His people (Prov. 20:22, Rom. 12:19, Heb. 10:30). He wants us to be comforted in knowing that the wrong that is done to us will be handled by Him. He doesn’t want us to seek our own justice. He wants that to be His responsibility.

If someone has hurt you or has done you wrong, don’t attempt to seek vengeance on your own. Give it to God and trust that He’ll handle the situation. Don’t pray for the worst scenario for their punishment. Pray for their deliverance from evil and repentance towards God. Let Him handle it.
