Psalms 85:2 NLT You forgave the guilt of your people— yes, you covered all their sins. Interlude

Even before Jesus came, we can see God’s heart when it comes to sin. God doesn’t want us focusing on, living with, or being conscious of sin. He doesn’t want us feeling guilty or shameful when we miss the mark. He wants us to know we can live guilt-free because there’s forgiveness available.

If anyone is attempting to make us focus on our sins or say we should feel ashamed for what we’ve done, they are operating outside of the bible. They’re applying natural and carnal consequences to something spiritual.

Naturally, if we do something wrong, we’re told to “think about what we’ve done.” Spiritually and biblically, we should be told that our sins have been paid for and to live guilt-free.

Praise God for Jesus, who allows us to be totally forgiven of all our wrongdoing. For the believer, there’s no more guilt, no more shame, and no more condemnation.
