II Corinthians 10:4-5 NKJV For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

If there’s something we don’t want to watch on TV, we’ll usually change the channel to something we like. If we’re not interested in hockey, we’ll change the channel. If we don’t want to watch an awards show, we’ll change the channel.

The same way we can change the channel on TV, is the same way we can change what we’re thinking about in our minds. The concept of “casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” is a long way of saying change the channel in our minds to something that aligns with God’s word.

If there are depressing thoughts playing in our minds, we can to turn the channel to thoughts of joy, peace, and happiness. If we have thoughts of worry, we can change the channel to thoughts of God’s word coming to pass.

Don’t believe the lie that says we can’t control our thoughts. We may not control what enters our minds, but we can control what stays in our minds. 

Satan will always throw thoughts in our minds that are contrary to God’s word (Ephesians 6:16). It’s up to us to change the channel to a station that agrees with God’s word.
