God will meet us at the limits of our desires. If we desire to be single, live in an apartment, and work at the same job in the same position for 30 years, God will give us our heart’s desires. If we desire to be married, live in a 3 bedroom house, and work at a job where we have promotion potential, God will honor that. If we desire to be married with children, living in a 4000 square foot house, and owning our own successful business, God will meet us at our desires.
The limits of our desires makes no difference to God, unless our limits are based in fear, doubt, and unbelief. If we choose to remain single and live in an apartment because we fear marrying the wrong person or we doubt God’s ability to provide a house, that’s a trust issue.
Even with fear and doubt, God won’t shame us, but we’ll get a nudge from the Holy Spirit to trust God for more. We can ignore the Holy Spirit and continue to stay where we are, or we can trust God, take a step of faith, and go to another level. The choice is entirely up to us.
Just know, God isn’t withholding anything from us and He’s not going to force anything on us. Our doubt, fear, and unbelief limits God.
If we choose to remain at one level, don’t be upset or come up with some religious statement about materialism or a lack of contentment because another believer desires for more. We all serve the same God who can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think (Eph. 3:20). They just chose to trust Him for more.
Now, ask yourself, are you limiting God?
Psalms 78:41-42 NKJV Yes, again and again they tempted God, And limited the Holy One of Israel. They did not remember His power: The day when He redeemed them from the enemy,
