John 8:31 NKJV Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

Part of being a legitimate disciple is abiding, obeying, and remaining faithful to God’s word. Based on scripture, we can’t call ourselves disciples if we pick and choose which words we want to keep. God’s word is not a buffet. In context, and under grace, we must accept it all.

That means we must accept His word where it says we’ll have a prepared mansion in the Father’s house, but also accept that we must love our enemies (John 14:2; Matt. 5:44). We must accept that God’s plan is to prosper us in Jeremiah 29:11, but also accept the responsibility to go and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world in Mark 16:15.

For best results in our lives and for the advancement of God’s Kingdom, we must abide, obey, and remain faithful to all of God’s word.
