Genesis 3:9 NKJV Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
God knew Adam and Eve had yielded themselves to the devil and sinned, but He still called for them, desiring fellowship with them. God wasn’t ashamed of them, but sin made them ashamed to be in the presence of God. This demonstrates the heart of God.
Since God is all knowing, He knows when we’ll mess up and sin too. If we sin, He’s not ashamed of us or kicking us to the curb. He still desires an intimate relationship with us. This is especially true under grace. Since grace has been made available through Jesus Christ, if we sin, that sin has already been paid for by the blood of Christ (Col. 2:13).
If we sin, let’s not try to hide ourselves from God by not going to church or not praying. God is not angry or ashamed of us, so we shouldn’t be ashamed either. Receive God’s grace, mercy, and forgiveness that has been made available through Jesus and live a guilt-free life.
