Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

Jesus was insulted, abused, and faced the most traumatic experience in His life and yet, He remained silent. He’s not talking about how bad it is or telling the soldiers, “Do you know who I am?” In the midst of His problems, He remained silent. He could do this because He knew Who He was. He knew nothing could stop Him from accomplishing His goal. Although the pain and separation from God was serious, the promise set before Him was His motivation.

When facing difficult situations, one of the best things we can do is remain silent. We don’t need to call our friends and tell them how bad it is, and we don’t need to post about our problems. Like Jesus, we know who we are. We are the righteousness of God, we are children of the King, and this problem won’t last forever. The thing that will help us overcome is holding onto God’s promise of victory (1 Cor. 15:57).

We may be going through a lot, but don’t talk about how bad the problem is. If we’re going to say anything, declare the victory over the problem.
