1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.

Ideas enter our minds that go against the ways of God. A lot of those ideas are appealing to our flesh. What appeals to our flesh varies from person to person. For some, it’s exciting to know we can steal a few dollars here and there to pay for a vacation. For others, they may want to satisfy their sexual cravings on anyone who’s attractive. Although our flesh wants to participate in those ideas, that doesn’t make it right.

The world says do what you feel. They think it’s a sense of freedom to let yourself go, but in actuality they’re becoming bound by sin (Rom. 6:14-23).

Stop trying to do it the way your flesh wants. It will end up destroying you (Rom. 6:23). Do it God’s way, His way is perfect (Ps. 18:30).
