We all should be standing in faith for something. We may desire healing in our bodies, a new career, or a peaceful home. Whatever we’re standing in faith for, we must be mindful to not keep searching for “the missing key” we think is going to unlock heaven’s door.
Some may think if they fast longer, their fast is going to provide breakthrough in their marriage. Some people think if they listen to 3 sermons a day, they’ll have prosperity in their finances. Some may think if they give more, their money is going to open up doors of opportunity in their career.
True enough, there are benefits and promises attached to all these things, but we shouldn’t look at them as if that’s the thing that’s going to manifest our desires.
We get our desires by remaing patient, in faith, as we rest in Him. Do whatever God leads you to do, but don’t be deceived into thinking that your righteous works are the things that will give you your desires.
Hebrews 4:10 For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.
Hebrews 6:12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
