Jeremiah 1:6-8 NKJV Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.
As adults, we often minimize what the youth has to say. We disregard what they’re saying because we feel like they don’t have enough experience or education to speak with wisdom.
With God, experience and education are irrelevant. If anyone (young or old) allows themselves to be used by God, they can provide a prophetic word, Godly wisdom, guidance, and ideas. However, if we only see them as young, we can miss what God is trying to say to us.
God can get a word to us through a 5-year old, but we must allow ourselves to be sensitive to what they’re saying. Some things they say may be child’s talk, but other things could be revelation from God. Let’s filter what anyone is saying with the word of God or through confirmation of the Holy Spirit.
