Philippians 1:17-18 NLT “Those others do not have pure motives as they preach about Christ. They preach with selfish ambition, not sincerely, intending to make my chains more painful to me. But that doesn’t matter. Whether their motives are false or genuine, the message about Christ is being preached either way, so I rejoice. And I will continue to rejoice. ”

This is probably one of the most forgotten verses in the bible. The reason I say this is because there are so many believers who have a strong opinion about how they feel the gospel should be preached. People’s opinions are so strong until there has been a divide in the body of Christ based on what we feel is the correct way to present the gospel.

This group doesn’t like this way of preaching because their message is too watered down. This group doesn’t like that way of preaching because it’s too strong and harsh. They don’t like this preacher because they seem more liberal. They don’t like that preacher because they seem more conservative. They don’t like that church because they’re not preaching the whole counsel of God.

We shouldn’t be divided or in conflict with one another based on how we feel the gospel should be preached. What really matters is that the gospel is preached. The delivery may not be our style and we may not be attracted to the personality of the person preaching the gospel, but that doesn’t mean we should dismiss it.

We should only ask ourselves one thing. Is the gospel correctly being preached? If yes, then that’s all that matters. All the other things are irrelevant and divisive. Praise God for everyone who preaches the gospel.
