Genesis 37:28 Then Midianite traders passed by; so the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt.

Exodus 2:5 Then the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along the riverside; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to get it.

As soon as Joseph was thrown in the pit, a caravan of Ishmaelites just so happened to be coming by. Coincidence? I think not.
When baby Moses got too big to hide in the house, his sister hid him in the Nile river. Pharoah’s daughter just so happened to be coming to bathe in that exact spot. Not only did she find Moses, but she went against her father’s orders and decided to keep him. Coincidence? I think not.

In the family of God, there are perks. It’s called favor. By leaning, trusting, and relying on God, we position ourselves to receive favor with God and man. Favor is God raising up someone somewhere to use their power, ability, and influence to help us.

The world may call it a coincidence or getting lucky, but we know it’s God working on the hearts of people for our benefit. Receive and expect this favor.
