“In the morning you will see the glory of the Lord, because he has heard your complaints, which are against him, not against us. What have we done that you should complain about us?” Then Moses added, “The Lord will give you meat to eat in the evening and bread to satisfy you in the morning, for he has heard all your complaints against him. What have we done? Yes, your complaints are against the Lord, not against us.””
Exodus 16:7-8 NLT
The children of Israel were in a stable situation. They may have been slaves, but they knew what to expect. They knew they had food to eat and a place to live.
Moses came to rescue them from their bondage, but the stability was taken away. Due to their instability, they began to fear and complain.
When dealing with the unknown and unstable situations, fear attempts to set in and we may find ourselves complaining. If we know that we know that God told us to leave a stable situation or if a stable situation was taken from us, God makes it His responsibility to take care of us.
Because of God’s promise to Abraham, the children of Israel were fed, protected, and supernaturally empowered to dominate any obstacle. Through Jesus Christ, we too have this same guarantee.
Although our situation may seem unstable, we don’t have to worry, fear, or complain. As we trust God, He’ll prove Himself to be The Source of our stability. And when we have God, we have everything we need.
